STEM for Kids

Thu, Sep 19, 2019
4:00pm - 5:00pm

This program is for children in the 1st through 6th grade and their families. The goal of this hands on program is for families to explore science together. This month they will make bouncy balls. This activity will demonstrate an interesting chemical reaction, between Borax, cornstarch, and glue. Borax acts as a “cross-linker” to the polymer molecules in the glue, which creates chains of molecules that stay together when you pick them up. The cornstarch binds the molecules. Participants must  pre-register for this club.  Register at the Circulation Desk.
