The Art Reflection program is for children in the 1st through 6th grade. Members study the works of famous artists and different forms of art and create works of art based on those artists.
This month we will learn about the artwork of Vincent van Gogh and Leonardo da Vinci. On January 9, members of the club will study the works of Dutch post-impressionist painter, Vincent van Gogh, and create self-portraits on canvas with acrylic paints. On January 23rd, works of Leonardo da Vinci, whose interests included invention, drawing, painting, sculpture, architecture, science, music, mathematics, engineering, literature, anatomy, geology, astronomy, botany, paleontology, and cartography. Da Vinci was truly a Renaissance man. We will discuss techniques of drawing and shading. On January 16, Laurie Maletto, of Penn State Extension, will lead her “Art of Cooking” class. They will create works of art with food and discuss nutrition. The final workshop of the month will be an opportunity to complete any unfinished work in preparation for the Art Reflection Art Show in May
Participants must pre-register for this club and space is limited to 15 students.
