- Story Seekers:
Mon, Mar 2, 2020
Calling all Story Seekers! The Bradford Area Public Library invites families with children ages birth to five to participate in our Story Seekers program every Monday and Friday at 11:00 am. We offer a variety of literacy activities that include reading, writing, talking, singing, and playing! A new story is offered each week with play experiences that encourage active learning and inspire the imagination. Children have opportunities to create their own stories using art materials, building blocks, dramatic play, and music and movement. During the month of March, Miss Debbie will read stories including Moon Cake, Boo Hoo Moo, Queen Dog, and Never Mail an Elephant.
- Evening Storytime:
Wed, Mar 4, 2020
Don’t forget to check out our evening storytime! You are invited to join us for a light story and craft to spark your imagination before bed. On March 4, Miss Mary will read Painting with Pepette, and on March 18, It Came in the Mail. On March 11, Miss Debbie will read Nerdy Birdy, and on March 25, If I Had a Gryphon.
- Art Club:
Thu, Mar 5, 2020
The Art Club is for children in the 1st through 6th grade. Members study the works of famous artists and create works of art based on those artists. The Art Club is supported in part by a PA Partners in the Art Project Stream Grant awarded by the Elk County Council on the Arts and Pennsylvania Council on the Arts. With the funding from this grant, the Art Club is able to offer art classes facilitated by local artists. The program is free and open to the public. In March, local artists Laura Hickey and Julie Mader will lead Art Club. On March 5 and 12, Laura will teach Art Club members about sculptor James Lake, who primarily works with recycled cardboard. Members will learn basic construction techniques and create a small bust based on his work. Participants must pre-register for this club and space is limited to 15 students.
