  • Winter Reading Challenge: Books Like Us

    From January 1st to January 31st, the Bradford Area Public Library will participate in Beanstack’s Fourth Annual Winter Reading Challenge, “Books Like Us,” sponsored by Simon and Schuster. This is open to readers of ALL AGES!! We challenge our patrons to read as many books as possible during the month of January and keep track of their reading on our Beanstack site at bradfordlibrary.beanstack.org. Thousands of libraries and schools across the nation are encouraging their communities to read a target number of books. Prizes will include book collections and virtual author visits. Ten (10) winning schools or libraries will each get a collection of fifty (50) books from the “Books Like Us” collection. But the fun doesn’t end on January 31!   • Upcycle This!

    See how the humble cardboard tube is upcycled into creative wall art for little to no money! This program is prerecorded and posted to the library’s Facebook page Thursday, on a biweekly basis at 12:00 p.m. After airing on Facebook, it is linked to the library’s website, under Virtual Programs.
  • Coffee with the Curator

  • Building Blocks

    Our Christmas break is over and Building Blocks is returning with another interesting quilt block to try! Building Blocks is a prerecorded program that is posted to the library’s Facebook page on a biweekly basis (Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m.). Judy Brown, owner of the Little Fabric Garden, is our host.
  • Yoga with Kathy

    Local yoga instructor, Kathy Wright, will be teaching 12 yoga classes for the library in 2021! All classes are 30 minutes in length and can squeeze into any busy schedule. Best of all, they are free for our community and will be delivered virtually via Facebook Live on Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m. on a bi-weekly basis beginning January 13. Each class will be linked to the library’s website, after its original airing date; so that individuals without Facebook can still easily access this content. No Registration Necessary.

  • It’s All Relative: Geneaology

    This program is designed to successfully educate our patrons in effective research, accurate family tree building and properly utilizing research tools, such as major DNA testing companies. Eric Migdal, owner of It’s All Relative Genealogy LLC has over 25 years experience in this field. His presentations have been well received by patrons who are seeking to enrich their knowledge in this subject, as well as people who are searching for family members and investigating their family histories. Eric’s presentations break down the very complex process into the basic steps in locating family, building family trees and analyzing DNA results. All designed to assist you in your own family history discoveries.
  • Juice Box Heroes with Jim Ronan

    Preschool and kindergarten age children can play their own percussion instruments and sing along with Jim Ronan. They will learn about rhythm and sound wile they sing many childhood favorite songs during this virtual program that streams Live on the library’s Facebook page.
  • Upcycle This!

  • Winter Food Festival

    Still searching for answers to that age-old question:  “What’s for dinner?”  Tune into Chef Rob’s Winter Food Festival on Saturday, January 23 at 3:00 p.m.  This event will stream Live from the library’s Facebook page.  Prior to the event, participants can download the three recipes he will be making during this event.  You can cook alongside Chef Rob and make an Italian Breadstick Salad, Grandma Style Spaghetti Pie, AND a Crustless Apple Crumb Pie made in time for your Saturday dinner!!  The recipes can be found on the library’s website at:  https://www.bradfordlibrary.org/virtual-programs
